Elmer assumes the role of Executive Director, becoming our full-time community builder. He will focus on growing the professional network of EA PH, while also supporting and seeding current and new EA aligned sub-groups. He has almost a decade of experience in various industries such as tech start ups Uber, Grab, PayMaya; social enterprises Human Nature and Diligence Cafe; FMCG Coca-Cola FEMSA, and government think tank Development Academy of the Philippines.
As a part-time community builder, Althy manages volunteers for EA Philippines. She also provides support for student groups and assists in other projects and programs. Althy graduated Magna Cum Laude in UP Diliman in 2022 and received the college award for service and academic excellence. She helped found one of our local student chapters and served as its President in her final year. Althy has a great interest in process optimization and project management where she applies her engineering background.
Red works part-time for EA Philippines to support our student chapters. He has a passion for helping young people have high-impact careers. He has garnered 9 years of experience implementing software projects, working with various clients across the world, from startups to Fortune 500 organizations. He also has 7 years of building and managing a full-fledged consulting firm offering end-to-end IT services with annual revenue of ~$3M USD with ~150 staff.
Janaisa has been volunteering with EA Philippines since December 2020 and is now our communications and events associate. She’s also one of the co-founders of Animal Empathy Philippines and leads its volunteer management and social media campaigns. She also co-leads ClimateScience Community Philippines’ Social Media and Community Arts Department. She graduated from the University of the Philippines Los Baños with a degree in Development Communication, major in Science Communication.
Tanya led our local charity effectiveness research project and does some career mentoring for community members interested in careers in the health or development sector. She also works full-time as a senior program officer working on policy development at the Australian Embassy in the Philippines. She has been working in the public sector for almost 8 years, including being an independent monitoring and evaluation specialist and the head executive assistant for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Brian helps set EA Philippines' strategy and helps support our student chapters. He also currently works as a Group Support Contractor at the Centre for Effective Altruism. Before working full-time for EA PH in January 2021, he had 3 years of experience working at various tech companies, and was a Senior Product Designer at First Circle, a FinTech company in Manila.
